Are you open for lunch on Saturday, August 1s??
I haven't eaten at the restaurant, but this is one of my favorite places to buy fresh seafood. The selection is small, but the seafood is always fresh and very fairly priced. The staff are always friendly and helpful. We typically spend $40-$50 here buying seafood for a family meal. We've never been disappointed.
Moreone of the absolute best crab cakes I’ve ever had!
Very run down dinning area near canal with some what charm , food is decent coconut added to the coleslaw is nice
MoreOld Funky Florida Flavor. And good music too! Fresh off the boat fish and shrimp cooked just right every time. I don't think I have ever seen anyone send a single thing back to the kitchen. Some of the best blues, swamp and folk music to come thru Matlacha plays at The Fish House. The view ain't too shabby either 😎
MoreI’ve had a wonderful experience the last two times I’ve been to this restaurant. I’m not much of a fish eater, but their whole snapper is delicious. The servers are attentive and kind. The food will definitely not let you down. I highly recommend it.
MoreJust the right amount of stone crabs for a reasonable price!
Loved the food and the service. Atmosphere was great. We loved the music,
My fiance and I stopped here on our way back to the airport since we had a couple hours to kill. We order the fish cakes to start, I had the special that day which was BBQ hogfish tacos, and he had the grouper reuben. The fish cakes were very tasty with a nice homemade sauce and a dish of their homemade coleslaw, which I think has some coconut flakes in it. Really yummy! My fish tacos were also very tasty - they were breaded and deep fried then covered in a BBQ sauce and then topped with a grilled pineapple salsa. This also came with a side of their coleslaw, which I didn't mind indulging in again. The group reuben was also tasty. Will definitely return if in the area again!
MoreSuch delicious food. Fresh air and sunshine. I had the special of the day fresh blackened scallops with fresh mango salsa and my husband had the garlic parmesan shrimp platter. Music was live and excellent. Our server was so sweet. We always look forward to visiting our favorite spot for fresh off the boat seafood on our lovely island. <3
MoreDelicious fish tacos!
Great "old Florida" feel with outdoor dining. Happy helpful staff. Food is amazing try it for yourself.
MoreVERY EXCEPTIONAL FOOD. The place really surprised us as far as the looks of the place ,but what a great surprise. This is one of our newfound favorite restaurants in Florida now. Highly recommend this.
MoreAwesome fresh shrimp. Light tasty coating and best hush puppies around! Fun outdoor patio setting and we enjoyed live music too.
MoreTasty little local joint on a canal in Matlacha. Chill patio and good home style seafood that goes down great with a cold beer. Reasonable prices and friendly service to top it off
MoreWith Jason and his new wife singing praises and with friends from all over the country, with the owner and staff, one big family in Matlacha.
MoreOlde Fish House in Matlacha, Florida purchases the fresh catch from the marina attached to the building, and the atmosphere is very casual and laid back where you eat on the patio facing the Gulf of Mexico on picnic tables, offering mainly a fried-focused menu with a few grill choices plus land items. We went on Bingo night enjoying the smoked fish spread and a combo seafood platter with blackened grouper. See the full review on the Wine Dine and Play blog website, plus many other reviews.
MoreLast minute decision to go to Matlacha for lunch and decided to pull in to the Olde Fish House and got a table waterside. There was a local band playing called the Pine Island Sound and they were great and very entertaining. Small restaurant, totally Florida and the food was pretty good as well. I should have taken a picture of my crab quesadilla that was delicious - sorry. You'll have to go try it yourself!
MoreGood service, great fresh seafood. Cajun shrimp and gator was great. Certainly try the coke slaw, it has a slight bit of coconut and maybe honey, awesome! This place could only be better if they fixed their one broken high chair.
MoreThis place is awesome. On a Monday, they had a live 6 piece country rock music group playing a noon o'clock. How great is that. 4 of us in our group. I had mullet, gator bits, and frog leg lunch. It was so good. My friend had a grouper wrap. Big chunks of grouper. He split with his wife. They scarfed it up. Just a road side joint. If your going by stop in you will not be disappointed ☺
MoreBeen here before years back. Portions and quality was better then. Server was friendly, food came in timely fashion, but the quality of the food is not what it should be for the price. Much better seafood to be had at a more reasonable price elsewhere.
MoreEasy sitting. Live music when we were there. We sat outside. Service was friendly and fast. It was busy but not packed and someone made sure to take our dirty dones off our table when we were finished with them. I had the grilled snapper sandwich with came with a yummy slaw on the side that had a hint of coconut flavor to it...so I just threw it on with my lettuce and tomato and it was good!! My fish was very fresh and not dry. My husband had the fried soft shell crab. He said it was small, but good. He also really liked hos side of slaw. We both spilt the shrimp and corn chowder and we both enjoyed it. We came here once a couple of years ago coming back from cayo costa and we enjoyed it then too. Seafood market was small and nothing worth taking home for us.
MoreWe had the clam strip basket and grouper sandwich. It was so darn good!
Best Fish Dip and Fish Sandwich on the Gulf Coast! Always fantastic food, service, and vibes!!
MoreAbsolutely Delicious! I had the triple tail fish bowl, BBQ mango scallops, and took mullet dip and chips home. Awesome!
MoreGood food, live music but crowded in season.
Place looked a bit run down but the service was excellent and the food was great. I would definitely eat here again.
MoreThey served me the wrong plate of food when I confronted them about it they said you wanted frog legs and you got them. I order frog leg seafood platter. Then charged me 35 for and 10 meal. Not happy at all.
MoreGreat food & service! The soft shell poboy was sooooo good.
The catch of the day mahi-mahi was delicious, prepared hot and fresh and perfectly cooked. The clam chowder was absolutely loaded tho the brim with clams! I wanted a real seafood experience and this little place made it happen. The dockside dining area was fantastic, open to the canal. The "resident" white egret, named Oscar, was really cool. He hopped right up on the railing next to me, and when the waitress brought out a couple of shrimp to give him, he hopped right into the dining area. A very memorable place that I will gladly return to when I can. See pictures!
MoreGreat place to sit by the water and enjoy fresh seafood, music and great staff! Thank you for the good food and good times from Knolls Court Motel!
More🐟🦐Olde Fish House Fish Market 🐟Been to the market a couple of times and found a nice selection of fillets and whole fish, shrimp and scallops. The Red Grouper fillets we're fantastic, so fresh and just the appearance of them was very fresh looking. I purchased some of their scallops last time and they were excellent. Great service I will try the restaurant soon and review.Enjoy Mojo,
MoreThey had a bluegrass band playing and good service. The fish was fresh. While you're in the area you can get some fresh fruit and mangos from the nearby fruit tree nursery.
MoreGreat music! Cold beers 😊
Good food, fast service.
This place was recommended by a friend. So glad I visited! Great local place to eat! Sitting out by the water, listening to live music, eating great fresh seafood, perfect! We found a new great go to for a nice time. Stop doing the chain restaurants and start visiting the locals, you won’t be disappointed! If you find my review helpful, please’Like’ for me, I would really appreciate it.
MoreCame all the way from Port Charlotte for their food. Was told they were temporary closed. Should have called ahead.
MoreI had the platter with frog legs, gator bites, mullet, sweet potato fries and coconut coleslaw. Outstanding. Beer was cold. They only serve beer and wine. Love the location and it is truly an old school, locals kind of place . Good, timely service. We were there right at sundown. Just beautiful. Quite, laid back atmosphere. Loved the vibe!
MoreFrom the moment you arrive here, you are whisked away to a different world. A world where stress and worries just melt away and carry you to a different place and time. A world where the day to day problems we all face are temporarily erased and replaced with having found our 'Margaritaville'.
MoreI was highly recommended here for great fish. Very disappointed. The grouper was good and fresh but very small portion compared to price. Onion rings cold and soggy. Cole slaw tasty but again, very tiny portion. No hush puppies or bread! Would not go here again. Three stars is a bit generous but only because the fish was good!
MoreOld Florida ambiance on the water in Matlacha. Very entertaining live music and dancing, efficient and friendly wait service, delicious blackened grouper sandwich with fresh coleslaw, hot fries and cold beer. Dog-friendly restaurant with lots of outdoor seating.
MoreGreat restaurant. Live music was fabulous, my boiled shrimp had great flavor and weren't overcooked plus the atmosphere is amazing. You can look into the water and see fish at all times. Restaurant is on the smaller side & a bit broken up so large parties should call first. Highly recommend!
MoreThe food was excellent. Good wait staff and live music. An old Florida experience and no corporations involved. Best food on our vacation.
MoreHidden gem. Nothing fancy, just great food. The peel and eat shrimp is awesome
